これは肺胞中隔の中に存在する弾性繊維をレゾルチンフクシンによって特別に--
染めた標本である。画面の中央を１個の肺胞嚢が占め、これは左端で肺胞管に--
通じている。肺胞中隔の中には弾性繊維が単独または小さい束を作って存在し、-
全体として肺胞腔を囲む籠を作っている。吸気の際に膨大した肺胞は、この弾----
性繊維の籠によって、呼気の際に元の大きさにもどる。-----------------------

In this specimen elastic fibers are stained violet with Resorcin-fuchsin. Elastic ---
fibers in the alveolar septum constitute, as a whole, basket-like structure and ----
serve as the skeleton to keep the 3-dimensional configuration of alveoli. At the---
center of this field there is an alveolar sac with 4 alveoli, which opens at left into -
an alveolar duct. -------------------------------------------------------
