粘膜上皮は丈の高い単層円柱上皮で、長楕円形の核を細胞の基底部に持ち、
細胞質はエオジンに比較的濃く染まる。細胞相互は自由表面直下の閉鎖堤---
によって固く結合している。上皮細胞を裏打ちする基底膜に接してよく---------
発達した毛細血管網がみられる。上皮の下は甚だ疎な結合組織（粘膜固有層）
で、更にその下に疎な平滑筋繊維の薄い層（粘膜筋板）がある。この図では---
粘膜筋板は示されていない。------------------------------------------
