The teaching programs in the class of Biochemistry invite you to the fundamental life science through the words integrated with biochemistry, molecular biology and physiology. In our curriculum, we provide lecture and experimental courses in first- and second-year undergraduate (freshman & sophomore) in Faculty of Nutrition. In the first year, we run the lecture course of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology covering Metabolism of Biomaterials (sugars, proteins, lipids, nucleotides, minerals, vitamins), Enzymes, Body Fluids and Electrolyte (Buffering effect, pH control), Endocrine System, Signal Transduction, Organ Systems, Connective Tissues (Extracellular Matrix), Gene Regulation (DNA/RNA/Protein synthesis), and Bioenergetics (Glycolysis, TCA Cycle, Oxidative Phosphorylation). These courses are supported by practical study of experimental biochemistry in the second-year. Through these trainings, all students in the freshman & sophomore years are expected to acquire fundamental knowledge and techniques essentially required for applicants of nutritionist and laboratory medical technologist. The Graduate School of Nutrition (Master course) provides research program in postgraduate education based on practical experimental trainings in my research laboratory. This two-years program leads to a Master’s Degree of Nutrition. Thereafter, another three-years program in the Graduate School of Food and Medical Sciences (Doctoral course) leads to Doctoral Degree of Nutrition/Science.
